The Capacity Building Consortium (CBC), invites you to join us for a 90-minute webinar on Understanding Violence Against People with Disabilities on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 from 5pm – 6:30pm EDT (4 PM CDT/ 3 PM MDT/ 2 PM PDT/ 1 PM AKDT/ 11 AM HST/
10 AM SST/ and June 18th at 7 AM ChST), hosted by Activating Change, in partnership with the CBC.
Studies show that people with disabilities experience domestic and sexual violence at significantly higher rates than those without disabilities. Survivors with disabilities also report more perpetrators and longer durations of abuse, yet they often face additional challenges when seeking support. This first webinar in our two-part series will provide a foundation for understanding the unique challenges faced by people with disabilities, including the heightened risks of violence, difficulties accessing justice and survivor services, and structural gaps in response efforts.
