Supporting Families Experiencing Intimate Partner Violence (IPV): What pediatricians can do

Join The National Health Resource Center on Domestic Violence for a webinar that will highlight valuable tools and strategies for addressing caregiver intimate partner violence (IPV) in pediatric clinical settings. Speakers will share best practices for integrating an evidence-based universal education approach within pediatric visits to support parents and caregivers who may be experiencing IPV. Learn helpful tips for talking about safe and healthy relationships with caregivers in various common situations seen in clinical visits; discuss safety considerations; and share successes in partnering with local IPV advocacy programs to extend supports to families. Lastly, training tools and resources will be shared to support pediatric practice change.

As a result of participating in this webinar, learners will be able to:
1. Understand the impacts of intimate partner violence (IPV) on children and families;
2. Discuss the value and importance of providing universal education in pediatric clinical settings;
3. Identify two strategies to improve response to IPV within pediatric clinical settings and build partnerships with family-serving community-based organizations.
