Addressing the Complex Needs of Domestic Violence Survivors

August 11 - August 15

The Capacity Technical Assistance Team is excited to announce an upcoming training on Addressing the Complex Needs of Domestic Violence Survivors on August 11th through August 15th in Chicago, IL for all FVPSA Formula Grantees! The training Days are as follows:

– August 11th and 12th: State and Territorial DV Coalitions
– August 13th: FVPSA State and Territorial Amdministrators
– August 14th and 15th: Tribal Grantees

We are excited to be bringing in Gabriela Zapata-Alma, LCSW CADC and Cathy Cave, Senior Training Consultant, both from the National Center on Domestic Violence Trauma and Mental Health, (NCDVTMH). They will provide intensive training on providing trauma-informed care to survivors experiencing long COVID, and/or substance abuse and mental health issues to ensure access of services to all survivors. The training will encompass a refresher on confidentiality and voluntary services under FVPSA, before delving into the best trauma-informed practices on serving those with multiple or complex issues. The goal is to provide a training that amplifies the technical assistance and training you provide to your programs, to enhance their capacity to effectively address these challenges and ensure access for all survivors.
